Where will my massage take place?
In a quiet comfortable room, where you are
properly draped at all times to keep you warm
and comfortable
Must I be completely undressed?
Most massage techniques are performed with
oils or lotions, therefore the client will undress;
however, you may decide what amount of
clothing you prefer to wear for your own
comfort.
Will the therapist be present when I disrobe?
The therapist will leave the room while you
undress, relax onto the table and cover yourself
with a clean sheet.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A typical massage will include your entire body
except breast and groin areas.
What will my massage feel like?
It depends on the techniques used. Oils and
lotions are available to hydrate the skin and
prevent excessive friction. Your session will
start with broad, flowing strokes to help calm
your nervous system and relax exterior muscle
tension. The pressure will gradually increase to
your comfort level.
Are there different kinds of massage?
Yes. Various techniques include rubbing strokes,
rocking movement and application of pressure to
specific points.
How long will my session last?
We offer massage sessions from 1/2 to 2 hours.
What should I do during the session?
Make yourself comfortable. The therapist will
gently move you as needed. Feel free to ask
questions about the massage or technique you are
receiving.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage inadvisable?
Yes - If you are being treated for a serious condition you need to discuss this when you make your appointment. We may need your doctor's permission before working on you.
How will I feel after my massage?
After your massage, you will feel more relaxed
and flexible, with less mental and physical fatigue
and stress. You may experience some momentary
light-headedness, which will go away. If you have
deep tissue work, you may experience muscle
soreness the following day. Drinking extra water
will help prevent detoxifying effects.
